AI & content planning status

Say what made each part.

The story, the voice, and the cover can have different origins. The internal build keeps those facts separate instead of collapsing them into one badge.

Story, voice, and artwork are labeled separately

  • On-demand prose is labeled “AI-generated story.” The current compiled Featured quest and preserved pilot are labeled “Published by Booka Ducka · authorship unverified” because the available record does not prove whether substantive prose was human-created, AI-assisted, or AI-generated.
  • Narration origin is a separate fact. Current labels distinguish ElevenLabs synthetic narration, Apple system voice, mixed narration, and unverified narration.
  • Artwork origin is separate again. Current values include AI-generated artwork, human-created artwork, human-created with AI assistance, the Booka Ducka template, and unverified artwork.
  • A published revision must not silently change its origin label. Missing or disputed evidence must not fall back to human-created.

When the internal build contacts AI services

  • With cloud story creation enabled, selected settings and an optional premise pass through the Booka backend and Vercel AI Gateway to OpenAI. The premise is optional and should not contain private information.
  • With cloud narration enabled, story text and the selected voice pass through the Booka backend to ElevenLabs. When it is disabled, live narration uses Apple’s on-device system voice.
  • Generated-cover processing is another independent choice. When disabled or unavailable, the app uses a Booka Ducka template without blocking story creation or playback.
  • The Creator Suite currently makes none of these network requests. Its local draft checks are structural checks, not a literary-quality, originality, rights, safety, or publication certificate.

What a provenance label does not prove

An origin label does not prove ownership, originality, safety, accuracy, or quality. Generated covers in the internal build are marked not independently reviewed. Public creator submissions remain closed until authentication, moderation, reporting, rights attestations, takedown and appeal procedures, and versioned provenance are operating.
